  1. make your garden more secure or keep him in as a house cat, he will get run over if u dont change something soon

  2. you will have to keep your cat indoors. he will have a hissy-fit for a while. buy him a harness and leash so you can take him into your back/front yard and let him have fun.

  3. Making a cat an indoor cat is not easy, he will indeed be resistant at first, but you can make it easier for him. Hang a bird feeder outside a window he has access to (closed of course) reality telly for your little man. And get him loads of cat nip, let him eat it, it will make him happy and snoozy. Get as many house plants as you can, especially ones at a hight that he can hide behind and pounce on you when you go past. Loads of toys, loves and games and he'll be used to it in no time. And he'll be alive too. Please don't let him play in the road, it will break your heart if he gets hurt, not to mention what it will do to the person who hits him. And if this is all too much, perhaps try and find him another home where he is further from traffic and other hazards. Good luck :)

  4. he's 'ard that cat - don't mess with him or he might drop on those cars in your slippers

  5. Your only options are to build an enclosure for your garden to stop the cat from exiting the garden or to keep the cat indoors. Costly but offers you peace of mind and keeps your cat safe.

  6. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to get him indoors and keep him there.  How many stories do we hear a day about cats ran over or hit by cars?  He will be miserable at first not letting him go outside, but it will be for his best welfare.

  7. Has he been nutured?

If not get this done as it will stop him from wandering x

  8. Try getting him an enclosure for outside or cat-proofing your yard. Here's some helpful links:

If you can't afford to buy something like this. Only take him outside when he's on a harness and lead with you and keep him inside. Don't allow a wondering cat. Good luck.

  9. If he gets run over at least his eyes will come in handy!

  10. please keep him indoors. my cat rosie was ran over and killed a week ago today, i wouldnt want for you to suffer the pain i did. keep your kitty safe, he can still have a fun life indoors where he will live to an old age

  11. has he been nuetered, cats seem to do the daftest things, try and entice him in with rewards, then if you spot him sat there may be he will give up and come in, if he thinks there is a treat waiting.

  12. wow.....close you goddam door

  13. Don't make him an indoor cat!  I am shocked so many people suggest that this is the solution!  Cats Love to live outside and can live outside - as strays even - very healthily without human intervention so please, please, please don't lock your cat inside!

My cats do exactly the same thing because they're hunting mice and birds, but I shoo them off  the road whenever I see them, beep our car to frighten them off, as do other cars, which is great.  Unfortunately, I think cats won't change their habit unless they've learnt a lesson the hard way - which may mean a close shave with a car but hopefully not necessarily death!  Just think... your cat is doing what he wants to do.  If he is hurt on the road, he will learn his lesson living a happy life!

Look into Get Off spray or similar to deter cat from straying near dangerous areas.  Try to retrain your cat... introduce him to lovely, safe areas instead of the road... but please, don't confine him to live the rest of his life inside, looking out of windows.  How sad would that be?

  14. Your cat has a death wish.  keep the front door shut keep him out the back.

  15. Do you REALLY not know the answer to this question???

KEEP HIM INDOORS where cats belong!  Cats are pets - not wild animals - and shouldn't be roaming loose anymore than our pet hamsters, ferrets and birds should be.  And would you let a dog round around loose in your neighbourhood?  No.  So why let your cat?

  16. This is the basis for Natural Selection.

  17. I'd like to know how all these people suggesting you MAKE him into indoors cat would live in the house too! my 10 month old kitten escaped and went missing for 8 weeks! I now have her back but have to be SO careful with opening windows or doors as she's desperate to get back out there!

but perhaps use a harness and lead to take him for walks and try to teach him some road-sense!? might work? or if he sits at the window watching the cars, try squirting him with water so he associates the cars with something unpleasent?

Good luck, hope you have a happy ending!
