there are four cats and only this one is acting strange around me. She's very playful and very smart. Every time I pet her she would lay down or even roll a bit like she's enjoying me pet her. At times she would make this weird noise when i pet her and she kept on touching my body if i stop petting her. She would walk around me in circle then bump into my legs. Why is she doing this?

  1. its a sign of affection... she really loves you.. Cats choose their owner unlike dogs, where they are chosen.

  2. The kitty likes you!

  3. As long as she's not resisting you petting her then that's a good sign. The rolling over means she wants to play!  Maybe she has some energy to work off?

I think some cats just make weird noises. Mine is really vocal around food and my friend has a cat who makes no noise at all except the occasional 'ack ack' at a bird outside.

Cat mewing/noises are just cat communication - you'll know the difference between urgent/cat in pain and just chattering. Pain is a horrid, frightening sound and the cat normally is offski under a chair or something and has to be coaxed out, bless.

The circling is because she loves you and wants attention!  Maybe she's tired being one of your 'groupies' with the other cats and wants to be your favourite!  Who knows, but it all sounds quite healthy!

  4. Signs of affection. She loves you and really enjoys the company. Some cats want more than the others, and as long as she is not hissing or starching at you to discourage the petting you should be fine. Enjoy it!

  5. my cat used to do the same it means she wonts some love off you  en she dose this sit down next to her and strock her
