I've had a male cat for about a year now. He is black with some white, and he'll be turning one year old on September twenty-eighth. The thing is, just in front of both ears, he doesn't have any fur. Now, I thought it was normal, but my female has fur there, same with all three of my kittens. He has some very short, course fur where it used to be bald, but it isn't growing back very fast. My friend used to tease him that he'd grow fur there once he was big. I'm starting to think its true. Dx Do you think I should get him to a vet?

  1. umm not necessary. i think thats where he scratches him self most of the time and cleans him self, hmm but if u think you should, than its worth checking him out

  2. I have a male black and white cat and a female silver tabby and white which are brother and sister who are both just over a year. and my male cat also never had fur there when he was younger although my female cat did! it has now started to grow though. i took my cat to the vet and was told not to worry and that some cats are just like that.

  3. I have a solid black cat, 4 y.o. She has very fine hair on the inside of her ears...almost invisible. You can take him to the vet if it will make you feel better. Have his ears checked for ear mites while you are there. He might be scratching his ears too much.
