  1. YEs he still has a horny urge.

  2. It's totally fine and totally normal. Film it and put it on youtube!

  3. You know, my neutered male cat ALWAYS humps any one of my pairs of fleece sweatpants, he also kind of acts like he's nursing them too, it's very visually disturbing. One time I had bought my sister a pair of fleece sweatpants for christmas and had then wrapped with a million other presents  in a different room. I saw Hank(my cat) fifteen minutes later trying to hump those pants, it was the only present he touched, I swear he smelled the fleece. As far as whether this is normal or not, I do not know, is it medically alarming? Not at all. My cat also eats mandarin oranges, hot cheetos and pineapple, but I don't worry about it, he's just weird.

  4. Yes, some still get an urge occasionally especially on very soft things, but it usually doesn't happen very often.  I've only seen one of ours do this, and can remember maybe two times a year he gets 'happy' on things.

  5. Totally normal.  I had a neutered male and a spayed female that went at it all the time.  I've even seen spayed females hump things.  Sometimes it is just a habit they pick up because it physically feels good.  Other times it is an issue with being anxious or dominant, and sometimes they do it like a person would use a glass of wine, just to relax.  So no worries.  It is obnoxious but normal

  6. well when you get a guy fixed he still wants it.  same thing..

  7. He's wishing you didn't cut his peepee off.

  8. Honestly, I had no idea so many people had this problem with their neutered male cats. More people need to mention this to there veterinarians. I had this problem with my neutered male cat. He would hump my lap while I watched TV and he would jump on the females in the house. It was driving me up a wall. I had never had a male cat do this before.

Having done some behavioral research I found out through a behaviorist at Texas A&M that this is an anxiety in cats. It can be treated and no it is not normal behavior. I placed my cat on an anti-anxiety drug  called amnitriptyline (a trans-dermal form applied on the ear/ also comes in a tablet) and the behavior stopped. I was so relieved that something actually worked.

I am sure the surgery went just fine. Trust me, for neutering a male cat there is not much too it and it would be extremely hard to miss. You would have to be trying to mess up this surgery because it is very straight forward and simple.

If you would like to do something about it talk to your veterinarian about the issue. Most veterinarians don't believe it is that common because they don't hear about it. After reading the comments to your question I am beginning to wonder if people just aren't mentioning it because they think it is normal and make excuses for the behavior. It is also not a dominance behavior. Cats do not display dominance in this manner like dogs will.

Good luck with this information whatever you decide to do with the behavior.

  9. Lol. That surgery can't not go right. They take out his jewels. But, yes. My neutered cat does, too. More than my non-neutered one, actually...

  10. YES very normal, my cat is 8 years old he got neutered 7 years ago i would say and he has this stuffed green carrot toy(mr.carrot lol) and when ever someone is on the phone ar hes just jealous of the dog he has to hump it its perfectly normal, nothing went wrong. also or new puppy shandi humps things we laugh because she is a girl and girls dont usually hump things so our house is the animal hump house!

  11. my dog still humps blankets and stuff and hes neutered. So yeah I think its normal

  12. heheheheehhhh...

Ro really. My boy cat, Toby ALWAYS tries to rape my girl cat.

I think it's normal. Even if it's not, it's not like it'll hurt him. It's just more amusing for you :'D

  13. With some cats this happens...I don't know why but some people say it has something to do with the age that they were neutered.
