my cat was with me the night of august 21st. the last time i actually noticed her was around 11pm because i was iming someone and she came next to me. For the rest of that night i don't remember seeing her but it didnt bother me because shes usually snooping around. The next day i realized i havent seen her in a long time i shook the box full of her treats..( she usually comes running she is a very greedy cat) i checked all over the house in every corner under every bed etc. and couldnt find her. I was guessing somehow she snuck out without us noticing i put up fliers and have been looking around the neighborhood but no sign of her. I first got this cat when i was 12-13 i am now 18. Shes been spayed and is an indoor cat but we sometimes take her out on the porch and she never goes far. I'm so worried and i dont know what to do im losing my mind and crying. Last night i put food on the porch and water apparently some cat ate it but that doesnt mean it was her. I feel so helpless and clueless because i didnt actually see her "run away" or leave the house i just noticed her disappearance and its been 2 days now im so scared and worried ..do you think she will ever come home?

  1. 'just check every corner of the house again cats are sneaky and If you can hide a camera by the food and water at night to see what is eating it.  Just make sure the film lasts until morning.

  2. when cats have had a steady happy home for that long they don't just run away , is she possibly stuck in your house some where ?

with my last cat when we had some builders in and they lifted floor board and she snuck under , they put them back down , 4 hours later , omg wheres the cat , anyway we got her out fine

    check local shelters too

my bet is she is in a cubored or somthing , remember be calm an think clearly , where could she have got herself stuck?

  3. DO NOT put any more food out on the porch.  that is normally what draws a cat back and if she finds it on the porch than she can eat and then leave again.  plus, it could draw attention to any wild animals that may want a snack.  (trust me happened to my cat).  secondly, leave the door open at all costs.  ring bells and the treat box.  they like to come back at night.  if all the doors were closed you should check every WHERE she could have been stuck.  one day i found my cat in our laundry closet after crying for 6 hours.  you need to check EVERYWHERE because they constantly change places to hide.  if the cat food was gone on the porch than it probably was your cat.  you need to keep the food INSIDE.  call her name all the time.  im so sorry i know how you feel.  GOOD LUCK!!! (please post something if you find her b/c my heart is breaking for you)

  4. A similar thing happened to me recently and I got my cat back, so don't give up hope.  Last month I moved home and during the first week our female cat escaped sometime during the night.  (She'd figured out how to open the door to the bedroom balcony).  As she'd always been an indoor only cat, I panicked when she didn't appear for her breakfast in the morning.  I spent a frantic 24 hours searching everywhere for her.  I made missing cat posters, contacted all the local vet clinics and animal rescue, but no-one had seen her.  I asked the neighbours to check sheds, garages any outside buildings.  I even checked skips to see if she'd been hit by a car and someone had disposed of her body.  I couldn't figure out how she'd vanished into thin air.  I couldn't sleep for worry and in the early hours of the next morning I heard cats fighting outside, so I rushed out in the hope it was her.  It wasn't, but then I spotted her face at the window of a neighbour's home.  She must have dashed in there when their door was opened and had spent the whole time hiding there.  Amazingly the neighbour didn't even know she was in his house - even when I told him I'd seen her at the window.  He said he'd checked under the beds and couldn't see her, but she's shy of strangers and had been avoiding him.  When we found her she was hiding under a chair in his lounge.

I sincerely hope that your cat turns up safe and well very soon.

  5. Look in every cupboard, closet high and low, under beds and dressers, garage, A tree outside, maybe she can't get down. Sometimes if they eat strings or plants etc. they feel sick and will find a quite place to rest for a couple of days. She's around. Good luck.
