  1. hmm.........maybe keep his food bowl in your room? and when you go to bed take your cat with you! if he sleeps on your bed with you then maybe he'll actually sleep! and maybe play with him more during the day so he'll sleep at night?  i have the same problem with my cat but she picks up my brothers socks in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT when they leave them out and she meows and sets them infront of their door.  our solution: yell at my brothers to pick up their socks!!

good luck and hope i helped!!

  2. I leave enough canned food out for my cat every night to last her through the night. She never wakes me up.

I leave out three bowls of different foods. Sometimes a little dry food, too, but as you know, dry food is hard on a cat's system -- all those grains and carbs, and of course little moisture. Cats were designed to eat meat and fat. They got their moisture mainly from their prey - like a mouse or small rabbit. If you feed dry exclusively, over time they can become dehyrated, which leads to all sorts of problems.

It used to be thought that dry food was better for a cat's teeth, but that has been disproven: cats teeth are designed for pulling and tearing - so they have to crush dry pellets between their back teeth, and the food stays between their teeth, causing problems.

(Of course, not everyone is home during the day and therefore MUST leave out some dry food - we do the best we can.)

If you leave out enough food, your cat shouldn't wake you up crying for food.  Good luck!! Sounds like your kitty is very lucky to have you.

  3. Maybe because By The Way you ASKED THIS QUESTION...........Especially saying, "It seems lie the only way he'll stfu is if i feed him." Which I can read typonese and know you meant like-instead of lie........You being the owner is annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!  Animals are NOT toys, they should be treated with love as you would a child.  Leave some food and water for him...litter box and he should be ok............If he still continues..............He is just wanting loved on.  I just rescued a baby kitten who was 10 minutes from death and I know what each 3 meows he does are for.  1. FOOD even if it's just 30 minutes old..he wants fresh.  2.  Let him down NOW...He has to POTTY.  3.  The other cats won't play with me and you have no choice.  He is spoiled.........and young and appreciates the fact that he knows.........I saved him.  The storm was brutally killing him.  I by complete Miracle heard him crying and found him and saved him.  His mother was in the middle of moving her kittens...I am assuming, and the storm came up too fast and she couldn't come back, but I did see her once the storm passed.  I feed the wild strays........I catch as many as I can get them vet care and fixed and find them good homes.  I have been a foster parent and animal rescuer for years.  I also have a bunny who has to be syringe fed around the clock.........I cut my trips out short to make sure she is fed and hot bottles in her cage.  Is it hard.....yes.  But when you take on a pet...you have to take on whatever it needs to be happy and healthy and not look at it as a chore.

  4. try putting him in a crate at night. that way he won't be able to get up and move around and be hungry!! put some food in a dish inside and if he doesn't stop talk to your vet about it

  5. if u have an extra room like in office or something then u could put him in there at night with some food and water and a smallish kitty litter pan and a bed and something for him to cuddle with. So maybe he will think its his own room...idk it might work...

  6. You should be placing enough food to make him through the night to keep him satiated. If he's eating a full bowl of food at each time, then you might wish to have him checked by a vet.

  7. He's doing it because you're feeding him every time he meows for it.

If you can't put him in another room, can you put out some dry cat food for him so he can help himself in the night?

It might not work, but it's worth a try.

The only other way is to grit your teeth and ignore him for a few nights and then he will give up - but you have to stick to your guns and not feed him even once.

  8. Leave food out for him through the night!

  9. Free feed him dry food. (assuming that you aren't all ready) Have a feeding station in the kitchen if that is where is normal food and water are, but if you close him up in the bedroom with you at night then make sure he has the same in there with you then as well.

Please don't lock him up in a crate at night like someone else suggested.  That's just mean....
