he doesnt even wait for them to earn his trust even without knowing you he will leap on your lap and expect you to hug and kiss him (

He does most of it with me because he knows im his mommy)

he is very needy and clingy, he is spoiled but the most adorable sweet kind big hearted cat you will ever meet. he is open and nice to everyone.

is this normal for a mixbreed cat. he also plays fetch and will sit on command with no cookie

  1. He sounds so sweet.  Your very lucky to have him.

  2. yes it is normal. i have one like that and the other is the opposite. no one can go near him unless he wants your lap or food.

  3. I have a very similar cat.  I actually have her mom, too, so I was around when she was born and have had her all of her life.  I also got to see how her siblings turned out.

Honestly, I think that some kittens are born with a personality that is extremely clingy.  None of her brothers or sisters were like her in needing constant affection, but she was always healthy and well cared, just like her brothers and sisters.

However, with your cat, if someone else had him he would have adjusted to that owner and may not be the same as he is with you.  Like if he were neglected or ignored he would eventually not be so affectionate or trusting

So it just sounds like you have a cat just like mine, born needy and clingy!  But don't worry, he's really not totally dependent on you.  If you leave your cat to it, his instincts will take over and he would be just fine.  It doesn't mean you are less improtant for him, it's just that cats are very instinctual.

  4. He's a very smart cat!  Because of his trusting nature and affectionate disposition he would probably be a wonderful therapy cat.  Consider that as it would benefit your cat as well as the people he visits.

  5. he sounds as though he's a very well adjusted cat, though you may want to be careful when introducing him to others he may not know. some cats will act and be very friendly and loving towards some, but someone you may introduce him to, he may not take to as well.

i've four cats of my own, Oscar, who is a tiger striped domestic short hair, loves to hunt and cuddle, but on his own terms. Artimus, who has 25 toes(not a typo, he does have 25 toes)) a black and white manx and also a rescue kitty, is alot like yours, loves to be loved by all. Jasmine, an eight yr old tortie, who's the mother hen of all, and wont come to you unless you have your lap covered. she doesnt like touching bare skin, dont know why..and finally Ashes, who loves to roam and is extremely talkitive!!

your doing a good job...keep it up!!! ^^

  6. It just honestly depends on the cat. Of our three cats one hides under the bed anytime a "stranger" comes to our house ... the other two are attention hogs and want everyone to love them and pay them attention.

  7. i want your kitty

  8. omg yes i have to cats and one is a loner and the other will lay on his back and let you rub his tummy he jumps in every ones lap its just the cats personality your luck to have such an outgoing cat some cats don't even like to be touched like my other cat   Dexter  is his name likes to snuggle

  9. it isn't commo, but 's not unheard of.

  10. Be happy you have a well adjusted social cat! My cat are opposite.  The female runs and hides even with us and our male is friendly with everyone.
