My cat's about 9 years old and she is very sensitive on her back right in front of her tail. I'll scratch her or brush her there and she starts l*****g and clawing and sticks her butt into the air.

Also, she is shedding ALOT and has some sort of dandruff thing going on. Anybody know what's up?

  1. Yes, cats are very sensitive on that place you were trying to explain the rump. My cat actually likes it when I pet it on the rump. Dandruff is a sign of illness which should be treated by a vet.

  2. My cat does the same thing. It's nerves in that area of their body that make them raise their butts up in the air. It's a pleasure thing to cats. As far as the loss of fur and the dandruff thing. She's shedding and the flakes are dry skin, dandruff. Get a brush and brush her a few times a week. You could comb her too instead of brushing.

  3. Cats can get dandruff just like humans.  Don't bath your cat with regular shampoo because that can cause the problem or make it worse. Good luck, I hope she feels better. My cat had a problem like that on the back of his leg and we found out he had an allergy.  The vet gave us some cream to put on it and the problem went away.
