The mom cat won't eat it, just licked it a little. I don't know what to do. It isn't just a glob of goo or anything, it actually looks like intestines.

The other two kittens do not have this. Just the embilical chords.

Additional Details

None of the other kittens have this and it isn't like the afterbirth the other kittens had. The kitten is acting normal and it is the mothers first litter. Please help ASAP.

Ugh, EW. We just looked at it closer and theres a foot sticking out from that kittens stomach as well in the mess of goop

  1. call the vet, for sure, to know best how to help. that said, whoa that's a new one. how sad. is the stomach really open, or could it be parts of another kitten that was deformed or didn't make it? had lots of cats through my lifetime and never heard this one. it is possible that intestines are outside (not good though) but haven't heard about the foot, made me wonder about a piece of another kitty inside mom? either way take it to your vet or maybe a kitty vet. might even have someone come to the house (lots of vets have housecall services) to minimize additional trauma. good luck!!! be brave

  2. It's probably something like siamese- kittens and the other kitten didn't develop all the way.

I would take your kitten to the vet.

  3. I think the other answers are probably correct.  In any case, take the kitten to the vet as soon as possible, to alleviate any suffering it might be in, and to determine what's going on.  Keep the kitten wrapped up in a blanket to keep it warm, and also to keep it away from the other kittens, and to cut the risk of the kitten being infected if any of the internal organs are actually exposed.  . If the kitten will nurse, let it get some food in it possibly before you take it to the vet. Good luck

  4. the kitten probably won't make it.   My cat had one like that but it was still born.

  5. it sounds like it should have been a twin but it didn't seperate completly and the goop is actually parts of another kitten, if you take it to the vet they can remove the outer parts of the other kitten and do testes and determin if it will even live, i wouldn't touch anything just in case it could hurt the kitten, good luck

  6. I suggest taking the mama and all the babies to the vet asap.  By doing this you are giving the little one a chance of survival.  By taking the mama and the other kittens you minimize the shock and the kitten still needs to nurse.

Good luck and enjoy the little ones!!!
