  1. last year my friend brooke's cat had kittens. aftr 3 days we

were over there picking them up and holding them but you

MUST be VERY careful. their bones are still very fragile &&

its pretty dangerous. if you believe in yourself that you will

definitly hold them with care then go ahead but its very risky

  2. i started handling ours the hour they were born. they need to get use to being held. be very gentle and they will be fine.

  3. This section isn't for pregnancy of a stupid cat.

    Don't pick them up.

  4. Uh...I think you are in the wrong category.

And you never really asked a question; you just made a comment!  But I'll pass on some advice for you.

Our household has had several experiences w/ cats & their kittens.  Chances are they are still very frail and their eyes are still closed.  So it would be very frightening for the kits to be picked up, and the mother wouldn't be very happy you are taking away one of her babies, either.  There is no benefit to picking them up at this stage, so why do it at all?

Let the kits enjoy the presence & care of their mom.  Let them receive the nourishment & comfort of the mother's milk.  As much as you might care, you cannot make it any better for mom or kits by intervening.  I know they are SO adorable, but right now, just let them be!

It's fine to do a little something to make the mom happy.  You can pet her or bring her a little treat.  But try not to handle the kits just yet unless it is absolutely necessary.  Wait until their eyes open and they are learning how to walk.  They now have greater awareness of their environment and the desire to explore it.  Then you can present yourself as someone who loves & makes life better for them.

Hope this helped.  Congrats for the new kits!

  5. you can just be gentle with them.

  6. You can pick them up and no, you don't have to wait 2-4 weeks!

As long as the mother cat is deeply bonded and connected to you, it should be fine. Go slowly and watch how she's reacting as you get closer to the babies. If the mother cat gets irritable or looks like she's getting a bit upset, back off and don't bother holding them yet!

All mothers in nature (just like humans!) want to have enough time to get used to their babies and care for them once they're first born. Most mothers don't like people picking our babies up or taking them away from us, even if we love the people handling them and know them well.

But she'll eventually grow to be more comfortable with you holding them if she isn't already.

Just be understanding, watch her reaction, and keep in mind that she just gave birth and all of this is new for her too!

  7. As long as the mother is okay with you picking up her kittens you can handle them as much as you want. Just make sure that they have equal time with their mother (if not more) because the first couple of weeks are when you should be concerned about them getting enough food and nutrients.

  8. If your cat is bonded with you, you can. But if your never around her I wouldnt mess with them. You dont want her to throw the kitten you touched out.

    other than that yeah

  9. you could but the mother will probably chase you around wanting her kid back:D

  10. There's a pet section for questions like these.

If there's no reason for you to pick them up, then just let them be.  That being said, I'm sure mom is use to your smell, so she probably wouldn't mind if you touched them too.  Just don't handle them too much.

  11. no youre supposed to wait 2 weeks at least 3 to 4 would be better
