Question:

My cat keeps meowing during the night?

My 12 year old just got spayed. She's a Scottish Fold and I've had her since I was 12, now I am 26. She's a sweet heart but I noticed that after coming back from being spayed and overcoming a uterine infection, she's been meowing loudly in the living room every night. And she has this tendency to always want my undivided attention.

We always tell her to quiet down as it seems a bit pushy at times especially during the day. What can my Fiance and I do to assure her that we love her and she's safe. I pamper her like crazy but I don't want to spoil her either (even though I can't help doing that sometimes).

Thank u in advance! Have a great day.

  1. Well first off she is 12 and that is a little old to be barley spayed so she is fixed but still has her urges and she meows or "sries" because you are spoiling her and she knows it, she can get attention whenever and especially at night because in low light that is when cats usually play or hunt. If she is closed out of your room at night she will cry more because she can't get to you.

  2. Lot's of cats meow during the night including my Persian. There is nothing you can do, it's part of their instincts.

  3. My cat meows at night, because he wants something. It's usually water out of the sink, instead of his bowl.....or sometimes he needs a treat ....It's normal, if it gets to be to much I just put in in his own room for the night and he calms down after and hour or so.
