Last night or this morning my cat had one kitten, and i have looked everywhere for more, there is none, but she is feeding the baby and cleaning it well, and is eating and drinking and going to washroom herself, so i am assuming she is finished, she is just 13 months old and a very small set female, so from what i read this is normal.. and only one of her nipples is enlarged , which the kitten is using, she is also letting me know she had her baby, so if she wasnt done would she not stay in her birthing place more? Have no clue, this is first pregnancy, but everything seems good with her and her only baby...any info would be greatfull,

  1. It is not unusual for them to only have one kitten, it happens.

  2. It's normal.  Please make this her only pregnancy. Have her spayed when she weans this one.

  3. yes it not unusual, however make sure momma doesn't look like she is in discomfort as she may not have pushed out any other kittens and they may still be in her.

You know your cat and if she looks off and can afford for a vet check up then do so. If not keep a close eye on her (just in case).

  4. If she seems fine, then all is fine.  It's not uncommon to have only 1 kitten.

  5. When it is their first pregency they will have 1-2 babies after that there may be more in number.

  6. Its perfectly normal Im aure you have nothing to worry about My cousins cat had 1 kitten a while ago and he grew up healthy Also a friend of mine His cat had 1 kitten and she came out healthy as well So theres nothing to worry about

  7. For a young cat yes it's normal for them to only have one. But be sure to keep an eye on her and make sure you don't see signs of distress or discomfort. If you notice any, please take her to a vet at once! We just had a feral mom have 3 kittens and the rescuer assumed she was finished. Sadly Mom got sick when the kits were about 4 days old and died on the 5th day before she could get her to the animal clinic. She had a retained kitten and died of septic shock. So please keep an eye on her JUST to be sure. But for a young cat, yes it is normal for them to have a single kitten.

And please, after this, have her spayed so she doesn't have more kittens. There are so many kittens in shelters being put to sleep. There are just too many and not enough homes for them all.
