is he okay? he sneezed a couple times in a row. should I get him anything? a blanket, a hot cup of tea? kidding with the tea. Also, is it okay for cats to watch TV? my cat really, really enjoys watching the Gilmore girls. Is this normal? he always runs to the T.V just before it starts and he meows whenever Rory Gilmore speaks.

  1. haha yea it's normal for a cat to sneeze now and then. And about the tv, maybe he just doesn't like Rory's voice! haha theres no harm in him watching tv. =)

  2. He's fine

  3. Wtf man. He sneezed! WOW

  4. nope, cats arent actually mammals like you and i that are capable of getting dust up thier nose and sneezing.when a cat sneezes its a callout to their alien mothership to come collect them, they communicate via rory gilmore, spread the word and pace be with you

  5. LOL, some dust might have been floating around his little nose.

  6. yes animals sneeze, f**t, burp all the time too.

except if hes constantly sneezing then he may be allergic to something.

and yes they can watch tv. it seems like your cat has a crush. haha.

  7. lol yea every pet does that

  8. lol, yes!

  9. as long as it is only once in a while it is alright, keep an eye on him if he is doing this a number of times a day then get him to the vet.

my cats like to watch tv with me

  10. lol . gilmore girls x]

hes okay . my cat sneezes too .

we sneeze at random times too

  11. Every pet, cat or dog, will sneeze. They don't need anything, they probably just sniffed up some dirt or dust or something and it got into their nose so they're sneezing to clear it out. It's what humans do as well. And lots of pets watch TV and "talk" when someone speaks or a certain type of music plays, or when an ad comes on. I have a dog who used to, whenever the old canon ad came on, she would howl and bark at the TV. It's actually quite funny!

  12. Humans aren't the only creatures who can sneeze. Our cats do it sometimes. It was probably some dust in his nose or something, and there's nothing wrong with watching tv, he just enjoys it. I don't know why he meows though, it might be because he likes him, or doesn't like him. But he's not sick or anything.

  13. Zeus is a cat flu carrier, which means he occasionally has a week where he sneezes and coughs, although most of the time he's fine. He gets over it after a while and is fine, and usually it doesn't bother him at all.

We foster rescue cats, and to be honest, most of our cats come with a cold or cat flu. Sometimes they get down and just sleep a lot, and we wait and see whether they pull out of it, and if they don't within a few days, then we take them to the vets for an antibiotic injection, but we've only done this twice, we normally wait and they recover in a few days. Usually it's the kittens who need injections as their little bodies find it harder to cope with, but I would wait a while with an older cat, he probably just needs a few days to get over it, the vet won't do much, particularly if it's just a cold, and you might as well avoid the costly bills. If he's eating fine, and his poo is normal, then I wouldn't worry at all. If that changes, then take him to the vets.

How long have you had him for? If it's been more than a few months, has he had any other bouts of sneezing in that time? If so, he probably has cat flu which reoccurs every now and again. There's no cure, but it's nothing to worry about really, Zeus is perfectly happy in spite of having it and it doesn't really affect him at all. I think it's kinda like getting spots for humans, they're not nice, you get them occasionally, but they don't really affect your health much! If you want, you can get him tested for cat flu, but I wouldn't bother unless you really want to know as I believe it's expensive, and if he does have it, then you can't do much about it!

If he hasn't had any sneezing bouts before (and you've had him a while) then it's probably just a cold, and he'll be fine in a few days!

So, don't worry, I'm sure he'll be absolutely fine! Any pics?
