My cat = the little mermaid?

Question

my 5 month old kitten LOVES water...

she doesn't drink her water...she splashes it out

she's always sitting in the sink, or the bath and follows me into the shower and plays with the water.

i cant even brush my teeth and wash my face in the morning coz the first thing she does is sit in the sink

LOL find it hilarious! but damm WHY does she do that? should'nt cats hate water? XD

Nothing so unusual,rarely yes,but my cat also was doing it in kittenhood,i even couldn't drink my water without her puting her paws in my glass,and she loves bathing,even was splashing in my fish tank,jumping in yard fountain,sitting in dishes sink and stuffs...even now she don't drink water from her bowl,she drink it from coffee cup...probably it is cause she was in contact with water since it was baby,you can explain it,some of them just love water and some not...tough it is much better when they do,easier bathing..:),and lot of fun watching her playing like that

haha! thats adorable. my brothers cat sleeps in his bathroom sink, and when they turn the water on he just sits there and lets it drip on him..

Cats are weirdos!  It's just a stereotype that they hate water (though it's often true).  Think about tigers - they're just big cats, but they love to swim.  You have a little tiger!

I think your cat would love this!  My kitten is the same way, she just really likes fresh water and is feisty :)

haha my lil kitten does the smae for defo its really sweet and funny i love it, but not sure y they do it, she as always like water , where as my other kitten hates it so so much, but i dnt think it bad makes it easier to wash her.

this is not my cat i found this one- my cat doesnt swim like that but she goes in it and splashes- once as a 4 month old or so she got so deep she had to go on her back legs...as soon as she hears the bath running she runs in and jumps on the side of the bath...but doesnt go in so much now more plays with the water which is better as she was messy after dragging water all over the house and we were scared of her catching a cold!

It is sooo funny...keep the toilet lid down she might like that water too!

I would think that she finds enough water to drink without needing a bowl down- i NEVER see my cat drink from her bowl but i've found her drinking everywhere else you can think of!
