My cat thinks she's a fish.

Question

Whenever I try to take a bath, she'd hop into the bath. This is very odd, because i've heard that cat's aren't supposed to like water. She likes to swim and everything, and i have no idea what to do.

I'm afraid she'll get sick or something, and i'm really worried.

Not all cats hate waer and some love it. From now on don't let her in the bathroom when you bath because the soaps can get her sick if she drinks the water, but also fill the tub up for her to take her own bath once a week so that you will both be happy.

*snicker* this, im sorry, but its really funny! HAHAHAA! ok, im done. ummmm, well, my cat climbed on my stomache when i was in the bath, and my little sister has pulled her into the tub with her. i think that problem is, is that she hasn't had any bad experiances with water. my cat sure has, then again, shes not the sharpest knife in the drawer...

Thats a good thing.

When i try to bathe my cats, they run and screech, and now i have scratch marks all over my body.

Just make sure to keep an eye on her, so that she doesn't drown.

oh, let her go, she'll love it and she'll probably play with you in the bath.  She won't get sick, they don't like to drink the water.  Just let her have a ball!

There are cat breeds that love water so much...Bengal (did research on this) cat species are one and the Sumatran (i think)...she/he may be a mix but with genes from water loving cat species that make giving her a bath a treat...you tube has videos of cats swimming very entertaining...

How lucky you are.  If she ever needs to be bathed, it won't be nearly as much of a hassle as it would be with mine.  They like to sit on the side and just keep me company, but if they get wet, they can't l**k it away fast enough :).

I have heard of cats that enjoy the water; I think she will be fine.

some cat breeds love water, the turkish van being one.   Other cats like it too, such as yours, all cats are different.  She will be fine.

Most cats hate water. But some house cats DO like water. If you go on youtube, you'll find some videos of cats being in water just to be in the water.
