My cat has been poorly now for around 5 days. Shes had bad diarrhea and has been vomiting 2 or 3 times a day. The vet gave us some antibiotics to give her and told us to feed her a teaspoon of food every couple of hours so not to stretch her stomach.

Shes been on the pills now for a couple of days and hasn't shown any improvement. However, this evening she threw up in the kitchen and amongst the liquid and bile etc there was a WHOLE dead insect/bug. It was around an inch long. I really don't know what it was. It kinda looked like a meal worm. Is it possible that this has been the cause of her illness or just a coincidence?

  1. it might be worms, specifically roundworms although they typically are about 3 inches long and look like spaghetti. don't know what it is. wrap it in a paper towel and take it to the vet and show it to them and see what they say.

  2. You should collect the bug in a baggy and bring it to the vets. No, seriously. If it did make the cat sick, it may be poisonous, if that's the case, the vet will need to know about it to give your cat proper treatment.

  3. It is probably the cause.  Tell your vet about it, and he might know what the illness was if he knew what has been coming out of her.  Hope that's helpful!

  4. oh man dude....i hope my cat dosen't get that, how BIG is it? And what exactly did WHOLE mean?
