My cat wants to eat Cicadas??

My mom brought in this cicada and we were looking at it and the cat saw it and would not stop jumping and biting at it. He was going nuts for it. He'd meow and sit up on his hind legs begging for it. Has anyones elses cat done this?

my cats LOVE bugs. any kind. they chase them all over and when they catch them, they eat them.  cat nature. i dont understand it, but...what are you gonna do??!! LOL

My cat goes nutters over any type of bug that gets in the house, she will play with it till it's almost dead then eat it.

My cats are nuts about bugs. Our one cat even gets sent into the cupboards if we spot a pesky cockroach.

This is quite normal behavious for your cat.

You betcha! My cat loves them li'l rascals that scream in the trees! We have 'em most all year round, here in South Texas, and I haven't seen a cat who didn't love to eat 'em up yet! You got yourself a right smart kitty!

if it is smaller then them and moves, they want to kill it.
