When I got home, my kitten seemed to be staring off into space alot and he wont move. When I put him down, he wont walk and he keeps wanting to hide.

He also puts head to the floor alot and slouches or puts head to the side. He's alos breathing heavy.

But when I put water i front of him, he drinks it and he will also eat food. I even gave him a flea bath cause he had fleas....

Is he ok? Or is he sick? Help me? Im really scared for my little Anti.

  1. Most commercially available flea meds are not intended for kittens less than 12 weeks of age.  Use a flea comb or other method to remove the fleas and just be sure to feed and water him properly.  Take him to a vet if you have any further concerns about his health.

  2. These are signs he is unwell.  Putting his head to the floor, heavy breathing, unwilling to walk and wanting to hide away are all signs of illness and can be signs of poisoning.  However sick or poisoned cats usually won't eat.  The fact he eats and drinks suggests it might be an inherited nerve or muscle condition (a myopaty or a neuropathy).  There are several that cause those symptoms so he needs to go to the vet who can check for illness and investigate the possibility of one of those hereditary conditions.  Some of them can be treated or will resolve in time.

Once the vet has diagnosed the cause of the problem your kitten can have appropriate treatment.

  3. Yes, something is wrong.  I'm not a vet, but I've had cats my entire life and it sounds to me like something (I don't know what) is wrong.  I know that as long as they are eating, it's a good sign, but you shouldn't take that as a sign to not take her/him to the vet.  I'd take the cat right away before it becomes serious or expensive to get her/him well again.

  4. might be scared and maybe get vet help ASAP

  5. He may be allergic to the flea med , cats will l**k them selfs and can be poisoned by the flea bath stuff. You should be sure to rinse the cat very good to get all of the flea killer off his coat.  Cats can die from flea killers if they l**k too much of it .If he doesn't get better take him to the vet

  6. Maybe he is lovesick! :)

  7. Well its Depends Where did u get the Kitten, Spca, Humain Society, ur own cat, hes probably scared of his new surroundings , dunno about the slouching and breathing heavy , best thing to do is take him to ur local vet

  8. I think you should go to the vet ASAP.

He may have a tick :S

Perhaps he has bruised/hurt his back/neck? That could explain the slouching...

or maybe something just gave him a fright, hence the hiding?

At any rate, please get it checked out :)

  9. Please, for your cats sake take it to the vet.

  10. he may have something wrong. take him to the vet quickly as possible.

  11. No, your cat is not ok, GO TO A VET 911 ASAP.  This could be a sign of... i relly hate to say it a desis called techness. take him to a vet and he may be ok

  12. I think he is O.K. It might just be the way he is. Although if this happened recently then I would take him to the vet to get him checked out.

  13. i wasnt home for the last two weeks and my cat died while i was gone.

my mom says that when she got home my cat would hide and her eyes were droopy and stuff

but i guess she wouldnt eat or drink either

she couldnt walk or stand or anything

    you should see a vet...

  14. Try a taser.  That should wake him up.

  15. he seems okay try to play with him and see his reaction. If ur really worried take him to the vet to make sure but IMO ur kitten is fine.
