  1. fill the left side with treats at the bottom and food at the top.

  2. How long is the food sitting in the bowl? If you are leaving the food for hours or days, even if it is dry food, that is why the cat won't eat it - it's stale.

Yes, even dry food goes stale when it sits out in the open.

I change my cat's food every 3-4 hours even if she hasn't touched it. And she is on very expensive food. If it is canned food, it needs to be picked up and thrown out after NO LONGER than 2 hours. It will go bad and make the cat sick.

So, it may not be that your cat is picky, it may be that you need to change the food more often.

  3. Buy him a new bowl, with only one placing to eat from.

  4. I like that answer of  buying him a bowl that's not divided in two! Maybe it's overwhelming for him. Cats are funny creatures> I had a cat that was a picky eater, too. She would only eat one brand of cat food and I had another cat that would only drink water by cupping it in her paw. So I would buy him a bowl with one opening or just feed him in the side he eats out of and don't worry about it. Put water in the left side and keep the food in the right so he's not upset!

  5. get a food bowl dat has just 1 section

  6. Haha, sounds like your cat has a bit of OCD. Which isn't really a bad thing, just get a regular cat dish that doesn't have two sides, maybe an automatic cat food dispenser? That way, he can always have food...and no left sides!
