I have bombed all of the rooms where the fleas are. The cats have had it on for 2 weeks so it should be working by now. They do go outside still so maybe that's why I still keep seeing fleas. I just really need to get them out of my house. Is there anything we can put on us to keep from getting bit?

  1. Get a bomb and put it off in your house.  Follow the rules very closely; you'll have to take your pets out of the house with you, and be gone for a while.  If you get a good bomb, it will kill the fleas and keep the eggs from hatching.

You can get something at the vet called star caps or star tabs or something.  They don't cost much, and they kill the fleas pretty quick.  However, they don't KEEP killing them.  And honestly, I don't know if they can be used with cats.  I just know it is a quick way to kill the existing flea population.

Also, you didn't mention how long the cats have had the frontline on.  It will take several days for it to work.  I know it's frustrating.  I had to battle fleas two summers ago, and it was a long, ugly war.  The bomb is what finally turned the tide for us.  Good luck!

  2. OK, This is what I did. First, find someone that can watch them for 2 days. Take them to Pet Co or some place reputable. Get them to dip your cats ( Yes, They can do this). While they are away at a friends dipped, dried and happy. Get a professional to spray your house. Make sure you wash all linen and vacuum your carpet or rugs with flea powder. Throw away the bag that you used when vacuuming (unless it is bag less). Once the cats get back home reapply the front line. Since it has been a few days it should not hurt them to put the front line back on. This is what I had to do, Hope it helps. In the meantime spray mosquito spray on you and your kids and the fleas will leave you alone.

  3. You can buy Capstar and Frontline Plus here which will definitely kill all the fleas on your cat and prevent reinfestation.

Use the Capstar right away. It will kill all fleas on your cat with in an hour. The capstar5 is important as frontline only works when a flea bites your cat and there is only one short period in a fleas life cycle where they feed. So you need the capstar to kill the fleas that have already fed and are getting ready to lay eggs. The Capstar will have all live fleas falling dead off your cat with in minutes.

Then after an hour add on the Frontline Plus and it will keep fleas off your cat for 30 days. No vet visit required and totally safe.

Frontline contains fipronil, which spreads via the body oils killing fleas within 24 hours and ticks within 48 hours. Ticks are generally killed before they bite, decreasing the risk of tick-borne disease transmission. Approved for use on kittens 8 weeks and older.

Frontline Plus also contains (S)-methoprene, an Insect Growth Regulator, which prevents an insect from maturing or reproducing. Approved for use on kittens 8 weeks and older.

You can use FRONTLINE flea and tick control once a month and it's completely waterproof. Provide your cat with the best flea and tick protection, right from the start.

Capstar - Treats flea infestations on pets. Starts killing adult fleas on the pet within 30 minutes. One dose lasts 24 hours. Use when pets are likely to be exposed to fleas. Also may be used prior to surgery, boarding, or grooming. Active ingredient is Nitenpyram, which interferes with the normal nerve transmission of insects, effectively killing them. Not a preventive. For pets over four (4) weeks of age. Package of 6.

  4. Cats are very sensitive. It is said that if you can't use it don't use it on cats. If you can't get rid of the fleas keep the cats outside.
