  1. Sounds a bit like fleas jumping around in the litter.

You can tell if a cat has worms, by looking at their pooh, and it will have little wriggly white things in it.

Dump all of the litter and scrub the litter box (do this outside) with HOT soapy water, and let it dry. Pour in some fresh litter.

Use some spot on flea stuff to make sure the cat has no fleas, such as Avantage, Revolution or Frontline.

  2. No.  It's summertime.  Try moving the box away from windows if it's near one.

  3. i totally know what you mean.

these flying bugs aren't fleas. these are just "dirtier" flies which accumulate in the old litter with rotting waste in it. you usually notice them in the garbage dump.

if you aren't disposing off the waste frequently they will appear. try using a bug spray in the area and dispose off the dump as soon as you cat uses the litter box, if possible.

i would suggest wash off the litter box well with warm soapy water. make sure the soap doesn't have really strong smell. you can even add bleach to the water. dispose off the old litter and start with a fresh one. trust me, if you follow all this you will never see those bugs again.

  4. not sure, have you tried dumping it out and starting off fresh? and maybe you should switch brands? also try washing it out with soap....

  5. Normally litter won't attract bugs and worms don't create them unless the catbox is never cleaned.

I would dump the litter, scrub out the box, let it dry and start all over again.
