he HAD tapeworm a month ago but we bought him medicine. after that it was gone, were positive. we leave a bowl of dry food out for him and our other cat 24/7. and sometimes we give him a treat of wet cat food. he doesn't really eat it he just like the juice in it. I'm not sure if he just looks skinny compared to my other cat or if hes skinny. we might take him to the vet soon if he doesn't gain some weight. heres some picturees:

  1. Maybe your cat has a mix of siamese in it? Like people some cats are just skinny. Try raw chicken wings for a treat it is great for their teeth.

  2. he doesn't look overly skinny, but he could just be getting over having a tapeworm, or what we had to do, was put two bowls of food down for our cats, cause one would be eating, and there would be a rivalry over the food.

he also looks like a pretty young cat,i dont know how old he is but he might just need some time to bulk up, or he might just be a naturally skinny kitty, my cat is large, but skinny, but he is also healthy because he is part siamese, its in his blood

  3. Your cat is so cute by the way!!

anyway your cat just look skinny if he ever was fatter that you might just want to take it to the vet. But if it never changed drastically about weight than its normal it is just skinny the way it is, don't you know that are people that eat and eat and are naturally still SKINNY. Well its the same thing for cats if you are worried thought don't trust everything you read or see in the web( seriously people are dumb these days and giving wrong information) so if you have any doubts take it to the vet right now you don't want to take risks right?

Good luck... Katgir...l ( why do you think I chose that name?)

  4. If his ribs are sticking out, he is skinny.  It is difficult to tell from your pictures, but he doesn't look emaciated.

Some cats are normally svelte.  There normally is a tremendous growth spurt up to 5-6 months, and a leveling off, and little gain after one year, although breeds can vary.  With overfeeding, of course, there is almost no limit to how far fur will stretch.

My five year old tabby is about the same weight as my 11 month old calico.  And my tabby has held her weight in a very narrow range for most of her life, after her kitten growth spurt, and remains slender.

Here are some guidelines on weight:

If you can see the ribs, your cat is too thin

Look at your cat from above. The animal should have a definite waist behind the ribs. If the waist is extreme or if bony prominences are visible, the animal is too thin.

Look at your cat from the side. Cats should have an abdominal tuck (the area behind the ribs should be smaller in diameter than the chest). An animal who is too thin will have a very severe abdominal tuck.

  5. Get your cat a HW test, not expensive!

If not any worms..... like round or w/e

It may be cause it runs around alot!

    Like my calico!

She is very active so has less body fat than Elliot, my couch potato kitty!

  6. He does look skinny and could gain some wait. Maybe he doesn't like his cat food. Cat's are finniky and eat what the like. They also like a wide variety of food in their dish. Try mixing warm water with  a variety of dry foods. This helps them eat better. Also, take him to the vet regularly. It isn't a good idea for you to leave the food out 24/7. Cats can sometime eat too much and not eat for a while. Try feeding him once in the morning and once at dinner time. This will make him more hungry and cause him to eat.

Maybe, he could have something wrong with his teeth, like a tooth infection that is causing him not to eat because it would hurt. Try feeding wet food to him too.!

I hope your cat starts eating regularly! I hope I helped!!!

You may want to take him to the vet for a checkup, just in case. You can also call your vet, free of charge and just ask them your questions. :- D

  7. my cat had the same thing before we uthinized her. they gave her a shot and two days she was in best of shape and then stopped eating. she only liked the juice in things and it will cost alot of money to get your cat in great health. Ask for an ultra sound

  8. He doesn't look dangerously underweight. But, you should take him to the vet for a check-up just in case. Good luck.

  9. Keep feeding him

  10. some cats are just naturally lean, especially if they are still kittens. how old is he? he should put on weight as he gets older. honestly though he doesnt look all that thin to me. he looks healthy. ive seen much, much worse.

  11. get him to a vet asap - just because he had one, doesn't mean there isn't another problem.  Heartworms or any other disease will make a cat stop eating.  You could save his life, don't diagnose on your own unless you are a vet.

  12. How old is your cat? is he drinking alot?  urinating alot?-  weight loss is usually a sign that kitty is sick.  Do take him to the vet-   have him checked for diabetes.  Too often owners don't knotice the signs of the disease- also- if he has had a strict diet of dry food- I would especially get him in to the vet- dry food is very bad for them.  It contains grains and cats do not have the enzyme to break down grains so we are seeing more and more cats with diabetes because of their diets.  Get him checked though.

  13. he doesn't look too skinny but my cat was a special siamese cat that was born w/o a tail so she was a manx and she only lived to be 7 1/2 but because of her tail she was often constipated so her digestive track kept getting blocked up and the vet had to manually take it out of her time and time again and because it would get blocked up she would try to eat and there was no room to digest it so she'd just throw it back up again and she didn't enjoy throwing up so she didn't eat that often it was really sad and she didn't drink water either so she'd get so dehydrated that her fur would split and fall out

i'm not saying that's whats happening to ur cat but if he's not eating you should try another type of food or sometimes the vet has to "put" food in him so that they can eat
