  1. It's a good idea to go to the vet but if this is a hardship for you I don't think that it's necessary. I had one that lost it's tail in a little mishap with a wooden door and it was fine.

  2. Sounds like Lucky was not so lucky.......sorry!  Lucky needs to see a vet asap.  There's not a great deal the vet can do for his tail if it completely fell off, but he can examine him and put him on antibiotics to make sure he does not have an infection.

If his tail is broken and is "hanging", Lucky may need to have the damaged part of his tail removed.

    Good Luck!

  3. take it to the vet!

  4. Yes, take him to the vet immediately.  In fact, because your the legal guardian you have to take care of this as soon as humanly possible.  He could get an infection, be bleeding elsewhere (internal injuries) or any number of things.  If you don't drive, call the vet and tell him/her, perhaps one of the assistants can come get it.  If you can't afford the vet, call the local SPCA right away to see if they can assist or know someone who can.  Please do this immediately.

  5. Not normal ... are you kidding???

TAKE YOUR CAT TO A VET!

somone might have run over the tail so now it needs to be fixed.

Also have your cat spayed / neutered while there!

  6. NEVER NAME YOUR PET LUCKY ....if you do then your asking for a dead pet...

    like my dog died.

my aunty named 9 dogs lucky and they all died.

  7. When I was little, I accidently slammed my cats tail in the screenporch door. The tip fell off. My dad called the vet, and they told him to put some medicne on it.. Unfortunatly I forgot what it was called.. Sorry

My cats tail didnt grow back, but the tip is not covered by fur, so you cant tell.

  8. Um, it's not normal for a tail to be hanging off the animal, so I would take him to the vet ASAP.

  9. No worries, that's totally normal.  Cats shed their tails about twice a year.

  10. The tail is part of the cat's spine, so any damage to the tail involves damage to the spine.  Your vet will probably have to amputate the damaged portion of the tail, but your cat should come out fine.

If the skin is not broken, then infection is not an immediate concern.  But if the skin is broken, sooner is better than later although probably not a need for an emergency vet trip.  Just schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

  11. NOT NORMAL!  My cats tails haven't ever fell off....

  12. NOT NORMAL AT ALL! my kitty's tail has never fallen off.call a Vet ASAP!

  13. YES! Vet and Quick! They may have to amputate it! Lucky wasnt so Lucky today!

But I hope he gets lucky at the vets!

  14. no, take to the vet asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. You should take him to the vet. They will need to remove or repair the damaged portion & give him some antibiotic to prevent infection.

  16. Ok,this one is an easy one because, when I was little the same thing happened to my cat, one day my brother had a string around his tail the knot was too tight and the tail lost blood circulation and I took it to the vet and the vet said all you can do is give it childrens tylenol and i gave it to him and about 3 days later it fell off but it grew back about 4 months later theres really no way to treat it.
