My ceiling fan will make a pop noise, what is it??

even when its not on, or when the light isnt on.If i turn off the main switch,it doesnt do it./..why & what is it?

  1. arcing. shut the breaker off and call an electrician.  Check the batteries in your smoke detectors and make sure you have a charged fire extinguisher.


  2. May be a loose electical connection. Have it checked.
