The top of the celing appears to be peeling off, So I;m just a single mom who can try and fix it if it just requires somepatch work. Any one out there have any suggestions? I;m also having these fine line cracks appear, any suggestions ho to get those fixed. Any help would be appreciated

  1. Just get yourself some yellow fiberglass self sticking tape and peel the old tape off and stick the new on and buy yourself a 10'' knive and a gal. bucket of mud and fill it up, keep it flat or lower not to high.........you can always add more....that way you don't have to sand........have fun. It's easy I usually run some around the wife and then mud her at the same time.:)

  2. Here are some step by step instruction! Good luck, you can do it!

  3. either the first taping was done poorly or you  have some water damage, either way pull off the loose stuff get some wallboard tape and compound and  spackling knife and re due it .  fine lines can be filled with latex caulk  squeeze  along the crack and rub into with your finger. wipe off excess let dry then paint

  4. The problem that has never been corrected for use with Sheetrock is the joint compound is not waterproof. In a garage where there is no climate control, humidity is always going to dampen the compound and it will eventually turn lose. The cracks can be filled with the same joint compound. Just rub it in with your finger. Is the ceiling a blown acoustical type, with little pieces of cork? If this is your case, it can all be scraped off and resprayed.   **JD
