I HAD the samsung juke but today I went swimming in my pool and you guessed it it was in my pocket. I know its not going to work again but i tried to dry it off as soon as i felt it in my pocket (1 minute later) but its gone lol. I recently put the battery in and tried to turn it on but it had a white screen and made a screeching sort of noise so i took the battery out. Is there any way I can sell this or give it away or something? I am planning on getting the Voyager but i want to get rid of this phone first any ideas?

  1. Why would anyone want to buy a broken cell phone? Take it somewhere that recycles the materials.

  2. just get rid of it. chances are no ones gonna buy a dead battary. i have the voyager its great =]

(if you want you can bring it to verizon and dont tell them about your incident and they might give you a discount on the voyager) just tell the verizon people it just randomly shut off and now wont turn on or somethin like that. hope i helped.

  3. The only suggestion I have is to try and sell it to someone on eBay so they can use it for parts but then you need to state in your ad that is BROKEN and DOESN'T WORK AT ALL.  That its an AS IS SALE and they can't return it.  This will protect you from getting a nasty letter back from they saying it won't work. lol

Anyways, or like the person before said just find a recycle place and get rid of it.

  4. You can try and sell it for parts but the parts may be too water damaged to do so...

  5. No one's going to want a broken phone. Just throw it out unless you find a drama student  who wants it as a prop for movies or theatre.

  6. Most likely a water-damaged phone will not be of use to anyone. You COULD, however, try to save it:

Don't sell it unless you specifically and clearly state that it is broken due to water damage. This is only fair to anyone who would buy it - better they know prior to the sale than after when they could accuse you of fraud.

You could try to donate it at http://www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com/, but I'm not sure on their water-damage policy.

Lastly, if you don't want to save, sell, or give it away, then do the environment a favor and recycle it at Best Buy (all stores have a drop-off box for used cell phones, batteries, CDs, and the like), or other recycling facility. The battery and other components could leak if you just throw it in the trash, so it's best to recycle.

    Hope that helps.

  7. I have had one phone go thru washing machine, another dropped in sudsy bucket of water.

If u remove the battery and back cover and place in sun for a day to dry out... there may have been a saving for it.

(Both my phones came good and work fine now).

  8. I dropped a phone in the toilet once and grabbed it right out (No, there was nothing else in the toilet LOL) and I washed it off (because, gross, it was in the toilet!) and dried it with a hairdryer. It didn't work so I left it in the sun all day and it still didn't work, so I figured it was ruined, but the next day, it worked!  This was weeks ago and it still works OK, but the battery only holds a charge for a few hours.

Wait a day or two, it might come back to life.

  9. Sometimes they can be dried out and they'll work fine, but there are some tricks to getting them dry, and it's important to do it sooner rather than later.

    1) Remove the battery

    2) Use compressed air or strong vacuum cleaner (hose) - not hot air - to get the water out of the same openings where it got in

    3) Uncooked rice may help dry it out further - cover the phone and battery with the rice overnight

Check out the links below and do a search for wet cell phones

  10. you can go to an office supply store and they recycle it for you, or if a school is collecting old phones you can donate it to them so they can get the money for recycling it, but i dont know if there are any participating stores/schools in your area
