  1. One choice is to go to Zedge, you have to sign up for an account, but its all free. They have free ringtones and themes and stuff. Or, what I do is use a program called GNUsound to chop songs up into ringtones on my computer and bluetooth it to my phone. If you use Windows (9x, XP, Vista) GNUsound wont work, its only for Linux. You can try Sound Recorder built into Windows, but the version of it in Vista wont do it.

  2. There's a fairly new site that's free to use you just have to signup for free.  It's ad supported, so they wont ask for any payment.  They have wallpapers ringtones videos all free too, its cool.

In other words the link is http://cellware.surveyland.org - I stop by there a lot.  Good luck.

  3. A lot of this depends on your phone, carrier, and type of recording you are using. Most cell phones accept text messages therefore I use the website Mobilereelz.com. You upload an entire MP3 from your computer and then cut the section you want, most ringtones need to be kept under the 30 second mark and under 1MB. This is usually not hard, I like mobile reelz because it lets you cut your own section, but you will need a main carrier and internet access from your phone to use it. You then name it, choose carrier and format, enter your mobile number, and receive a text message with a link. Follow the link and again choose your carrier to start downloading. It automatically finds the folder it needs to drop it into and places it there for a choice as a ringtone.

If this is not an option, and you are recording to a sound recorder on your phone, then setting as a ringtone (I used to do it this way on my old phone) then the easiest thing to do is have a pair of headphones with decent highs. I used a pair of Skullcandies and they worked perfectly, it also helps to have a full over the ear headphone rather than buds. You might need to record several times playing with the volume to get the right sound and make sure to do it in a perfectly quite room, otherwise you will get interference.

Email if you have any more questions.

  4. i always prefer make my ringtones using Ventones

    .com

they sound quality its better and they send the ringtone to my phone

and its free and easy to use

  5. go to phonezoo.com. I bet you can get it there and its free. lol and its groovy

  6. don't record your ringtones, download the music and convert it to a ringtone file so as to retain its quality

  7. well i havn't heard a ringtone that didn't sound a little scratchy but if you turn the volume down when you record the rigntone it should reduce the scratchy noise a bit
