I checked and found that the outdoor unit isn't coming on. I discovered that he wet switch in the attic had a red light and that there was a little water in the pan. I figured that was why it shut off. Is there anything I can do before calling someone to restart the system?

  1. Your primary pan is backed up and your secondary pan is now holding water. The float switch has disabled your compressor to alert you of the problem before the secondary pan overflows and you have sheetrock damage.

Fix it by blowing out or clearing your primary drain, removing the water in the secondary pan and the float switch will reset.Good luck.

  2. yes, there should be a pan under the unit in the attic. it has a shut off switch in it so if the water in the pan reaches a certain level it will shut the unit off. get the water out of the pan, check you main condensate drain it may be stopped up. Get this cleaned out once this is done should restart.
