My chain axis seems to be off on my single speed what are my options?

I built a single speed with a rear wheel with a coaster brake on , the rear gear spacing cannot be changed. I just changed the crank set from a 2 gear sugino to a single speed crank, so now the front gear axis has changed and it's off (a little more out to the right now). How cna I correct this, or compensate? My first guess would be to change the BB to another that would be shorter...

  1. With the rear cog out of the question that's a problem. It's possible you may be able to use a shorter spindle. See if you have room 1st. Is there extra space for the crank to move in closer to the BB? If so you may have lucked out. The next thing to do is pull the spindle out, measure it and see if a shorter one is available. If it's already short or you have no room to move the crank in, you may be out of luck.

  2. ok, first you can't change the  bb's on a frame, if you frame is X type of bb, u can't put  another type on. (well it's like that on bmx bike's not sure on other's....if u buy some bb's gotta be the same kind as the one's u got on now.

second i dont really understand you question, if i readed it right, you are saying that u had a let's say 2 speed bike (2 speed being the spocket) and u removed that second sprocket to make it 1speed and now you have some sorte of chain problems? anyways if this is the case just pull ur back tire further down and it should be tighter....

if that's not it then i also tink i understand that you have changed you crank and it's slightly not 180degree's with the other crank????  if this is the case, then it's not your BB's its only that u need to take your crank arm (if it's a 3pc) and simply put it so it's flat the same as the other crank...

anyways tell me wtf is wrong cuz i dont really understand...
