GPA of 3.8 (total of 8 ap classes)

I played baseball for 3 years

community service for 3 years (senior assisting, tutoring)

been in chess club& math team

sat score of 2200

but I don't know if outside of school activities will mean anything such as musical instrument/sports not associated with school music programs/teams.

I play guitar well and do other sports outside of school. but I don't have any awards or anything like that.

  1. First of all, it's not so important to be in the Ivy League.

Second, some schools care more about well-roundedness than others, like Cornell and Brown. Not so much Harvard and Princeton.

Third, there's a fair degree of chance in these things. I got into Cornell and not U Chicago and my best friend got into U Chicago and not Cornell. You never know.

I'm not really sure what a 2200 SAT score means. They change the scaling every few years and there was a big change when it became out of 2400 instead of 1600 when I took them. I had a 1420 out of 1600. Also, a 3.8 GPA doesn't tell you much unless you know the school. The admissions officers know the individual high schools and can better compare what a 3.8 means in one school compared to another. The sports, community service, clubs, and 8 AP classes help a lot, especially at Cornell. Leadership in those organizations is another big factor that many schools look for.
