I was driving and the light came on. So hubby got these codes from the truck. Now all I need to know is how to fix it and why all of a sudden did they go bad.

  1. if you take your trk to autozone or advanced, they will run the codes and tell you what they are,but ,most of the time the code that reads out doesn't always mean thats what it is,one code can have several meanings, for example, you may get a code that your o2 sensor is bad,it also could be anything connected to the o2 sensor also.try disconnecting the neg. side of the batt. for 20 to 30 seconds and then reread the codes alot of times the comp. will send false codes when one code reads out,you can also buy the haynes repair man. that will have all the codes in it at the parts store.

  2. http://www.obd-codes.com/search/

check this site. Also, if you live near an Auto Zone, they will check you vehicle for free and tell you what the codes mean.

  3. Dodge man and twoblack have the right answers.  Don't ever go to Autozone or Advanced to get codes checked.  They want to sell you parts and they will sell you the wrong parts based on codes.  For instance, you won't need a fuel pump.  They will try to sell you one.

After you install the wrong parts you will then have to go to a real mechanic and get the correct items repaired.

There is actually a lot more to the codes than the other two listed.  I can't post them here because Yahoo won't let me post jpeg imagines and that's the only way I can copy you the flow charts.

email me at 440gtx at gmail . com and I will send you the copies if you need them.  Be sure to send me the details again.

I will also say based on those codes, it may be some corrosion on the computer terminals but I will have to send you the flow charts I talked about earlier for you to figure it out.

  4. 441 is an emission code more than likely the purge solenoid by the a/c fan on the left front of the truck it has a plug with 2 wires and two hoses going to it.

627 and 685 are relay codes for the fuel pump and asd or automatic shut down relay.

as long as the truck didnt die while driving id focus on the purge solenoid and erase codes and see if it comes back..

  5. here's what  they mean,441=evap control system purge flow fault,,627=fuel pump control circuit open,685=ecm power relay control circuit open, good luck.
