Question:

My chest hurts when i tighten it and bend forward?

When i lean my upper torso forward and tighten it i feel pressure in my chest(dull pain barely hurts at all)

Is this sign of heart problem? or just bad posture(b/c i have bad posture)

  1. There is a condition called "costochondritis" where you may feel pain in certain positions like that. It's caused by inflammation of the cartilage in your chest, and is not a heart problem. It can last up to 6 months to a year if serious, but it isn't permanent. Though it can be debilitating for awhile.

    Heart issues usually don't have anything to do with the position your sitting in. Distinctive signs of costochondritis are pains when you sit in different positions AND(this is the key one) if it hurts when you press your finger down on the center of your chest. If so, it's probably costo.

    But you should get it checked out anyway if it persists.

  5. I have had this and normally it's just because I used a muscle I hadn't used in a while or moved in a way that I was not used to.

  7. You know I have the same problem sometimes. I am a nurse and i REALLY dont think its heart problems!! It could be bad posture, never thought of that, i have bad posture too!

    Sometimes I think its the position I sleep, like I am putting too much pressure on my ribs or something. BUT i don't think you have anything seriously wrong with you! =)

    Edit: Acid reflux, Gas could be the answer... But chest pain due to heart attacks feel like a crushing pressure on your chest like an elephant is standing on you, you can also get shortness of breath, and pain that radiates to your arm... so I think you are ok :)
