My chicken and hens plant gets a rooster on it every few years anyone ever heard of this?

  1. "Hens and chicks" plants have roosters occasionally, they are just the spent flowers. Just pull them out, that's all you have to do.  Hens and chicks are great, you can usually get a chick for free, or give chicks away, and they will eventually turn into hens..these things live forever! Sometimes passed down through generations of families.  I bought a strawberry pot (an urn with cups cut out of the sides) to grow strawberries in, and I was telling my mom, and the first thing she asked was if I was going to put hens and chicks in it! (I guess next to strawberries, hens and chicks are the next common thing to grow in 'strawberry pots')  Have fun with yours! And share the chicks!  :)


  2. never heard of this.  but i've only seen one bloom about thirty years ago.
