My chicken hatched one egg from her clutch of eggs - do I need to try to separate her from the other two?

My rooster is mean to me, but hasn't touched the chick and doesn't hurt the hens. The hens aren't used to being picked up and are really hard to catch.

  1. Yes. Separate the rooster and hen even if you think that the rooster is nice to the hen and chick, it can easily kill the baby chick. If the the hen is with other hers, I would separate them also because they can get very territorial and hurt each other especially with the baby chicks. Hope I answered you question!
