My chihuahua's eyes are swollen & all around them it's all red and crusty looking. What could it be?

It started with just the one eye a couple days ago. My husband said when he got home she was in the floor & let out a big yelp but he didn't see anything in the floor that may have caused it. This morning I noticed it's both eyes now. Can dogs get pink eye? Do you think it may be contagious?

Dogs can definitely get conjunctivitis.  Just take him to the vets they will give him an ointment and it is gone in no time.

  It is curtainly an infection, and might be contagous. No one can really tell you but your local vet. bring the doggy in as soon as possible. The infection sounds a little more painful than pink eye, and you don't want it to result in you dog loosing his sight. Good luck, and hope its nothing surious.

seems like it could be an infection or allergies. the best thing would be to go to the vet. They can properly diagnose your dog and give it medication
