  1. If you are really that worried about him you should take him back to the Vet, better to be safe than sorry.

  2. Bring him back to the vet NOW and ask questions!  This is a baby - a baby ... so this is an emergency.  A small animal can die within 24 hours of becoming ill due to dehydration.

When you go to the vet., be sure to bring all medical records you have.  Your dog will need to stay at the vet. as he needs to be on a drip for 12-24 hours.  When you bring your dog home, do not leave the office without knowing, precisely, what you are to do for your dog - the vet. will give you written instructions so you don't forget one detail.

Do not give human food or human meds, ever, to an animal unless the veterinarian says to do so.

While waiting to go to the vet. do as others have suggested - Karo syrup on the gums every 2 hours plus one teaspoon of water, about, every 20 - 30 mins. (set a timer).

Karo syrup (light-coloured one) and small syringes should, always, be kept in your home when you have a pet.  The vet. office will give you a few syringes (without needles, of course) - ask for a demonstration on how to use them for a dog.

Hope your pup will be okay.

  3. Take him back to the vet asap.Chihuahuas can go downhill really fast. If a Chi up misses too many meals,it can get hypoglycemia and die,so rub some Karo syrup, honey or pancake syrup ( but not diet ) on his gums to keep his blood sugar up until you get him back to the vet.

  4. When a dog is sick,  never force feed the animal,  the Vet can do that safely when he feels it is necessary.     Next  an animal  will go by their own instincts.   He will try to heal himself,  he may just have a virus that is much like the human flu.   When your stomach is upset  you may p**p green also, just the bodies healing process.

Next if he is vomiting,  STOP feeding him.  You are only compounding the problem  If you had the stomach flu and then were forced to eat heavy meal  you would be vomiting also.

I don't see the point of pepto or why you would give it to your dog unless your vet instructed you to,  I have never met a Vet who did that so I am lost at that one.

What I would say  for the next  24 hours,   no food,  just  a bit of water.   The dog  should fair just fine.  After 24 hours  introduce a easy digestable  food,  you can ask your vet for some I/D (science diet) and give in very small portions.   Wait  an hour or so  then a small bit more.  If  he tolerates the food  continue  feeding small amounts throughout the day.

I don't know  how old he is,  but  make sure he has gotten his Parvo vaccine,  if not  ask your Vet about it.

The more  upset you are  - - you transfer that to your dog  so stay calm,  and  think smart.    Vomitting  stop feeding for 24 hours,  give water in small amounts at a time.   After 24 hours  slowly re-introduce food in very small amounts  - wait  then  try again in an hour or so.

Stay calm  and  call your vet if  you have serious concerns.

  5. The first thing I would do, is find a new vet! He is obviously not fine and you need to find out, what is causing him to do this. Stop the Pepto, and don't give him any human medication, until you check with a vet, that knows what he's talking about first. I hope he's drinking water, because the vomiting alone, will cause him to become dehydrated, and that can be life threatening. There can be so many things going on, that are causing this, and you need to find out exactly what it is, before it's too late to do that. Puppies, can and will go downhill fast.

  6. grass makes a dog barf a lot

  7. call the vet back.

and also NEVER give your dog human medication.

and dont force your dog to eat, unless its necessary.

    good luck with your pup.

  8. maybe the chicken was done well enoough?

if thats the case the little pup may have a casse of food posining

  9. chicken is a very rich food for a dog and can cause the runs also corn beef does the same just give him dog food or chicken hearts cook them in the microwave the green p**p could be due to eating grass or plants a puppy will eat anything so always keep your eyes open when in the garden and move all plants within reach im sure he will be fine

  10. Go back to the vet..I don't believe it is just gas.  He could have giardia or coccidia and this means he needs medication ASAP.  Take a fresh (if possible) stool sample with you to the vet so he can examine it.

Frequent vomiting can cause rapid dehydration which is very serious in a tiny pup.  Give tiny amounts of water about every 1/2 hour (about 1/2 teaspoon).  Electrolytes are better if you have any on hand (such as Pediayte).  If he keeps it down, give a little more the next time.

Also get the pup on a heating pad.  If you don't have a heat pad, fill 2 bottles with hot water and wrap them in towels.  Place the pup in a small box with a bottle on each side of him.  Make sure the box is not on a cold floor.  Put a heavy towel under the box if you have to.

Keep up with the force feeding...chicken and rice is good.  He might throw it up, but give tiny amounts frequently, just like with the water.  He needs to get nourishment.

Also give him some Karo syrup.  About 1/4 teaspoon every 1 to 2 hours.  This will help keep him from developing low blood sugar which right now could easily happen.

Hopefully he will be ok until you get him back to the vet, but don't wait!  Even if he appears to be a little better, he still needs to be checked.

  11. The boiled chicken and rice could have done it. Since he's only weeks old, it's probably not digesting right in his little tummy. Also, the pepto bismol was not a good idea at all. Don't give him human medicine! Just give him normal dog food. Don't give him too much luxury no matter how much you want to. I'm like that sometimes. Just give him dog food and no more medicine.

  12. I just recently got a chihuahua puppy... it had it's first 2 shots and still contracted Parvo!  It's 3rd shot is due next week.  It was pooping yellow, green diarrhea, and it had a few spots of blood in it.  It was vomitting, wouldn't eat, and wouldn't do anything but lay around.  I thought she would die.  We started giving her a tsp of pedialyte every 2 hours to keep her hydrated.  My husband had some Tamiflu from last year when he had the flu and i had read that it reallly works on Parvo.  I opened the Tamiflu and seperated the powder into little-bitty doses and started giving it to her twice a day.   The very next day she was eating, up running and playing with the kids, and acting like a new puppy!   Sounds like your puppy may have parvo and if you don't have any Tamiflu laying around (since it is prescription only) then you may want to get it to the vet IMMEDIATELY.  When you went to the vet, did they test it for parvo? I would make sure they did that test.  If not, and it is parvo, the dog will likely die in 5-7 days  I will also add that this happened on the weekened and the vet wasn't available, it was either try the meds or let the dog die, so i did what i had to do!  Also, pepto and pedialyte are both safe in dogs(and mine is only 2 lbs!)

  13. you really should take him back to the vet and insist on another opinion. he's only a pup and won't be as strong as an adult, and may get dehydrated very easily. you shouldn't force him to eat anything, and definitely DON"T give him human medicine!!!!! get him down the vets again!!!
