  1. The middle, but if it's more convenient to use the side, go for it.  People with more than one kid have to use the sides.

  2. middle is safest then behind the passenger then behind the driver

  3. I have mine in the middle, she is safer there but she can also see what is going on :-)

  4. You can put the car seat in either place. When I only had one child I always felt safer putting him in the middle:)

  5. center is always safest. that way in a side crash she will have protection on either side.

  6. I plan on keeping mine in the middle.  I'm sooo paranoid about chosing a side and then having someone run into us on that side.

  7. Well, it's kind of a two part answer.

If you can get a good install in the center, definitely the center.  However, some cars have narrow center seats that make it hard to install the carseat correctly (it's just the way the cars are built).  If you can't get a good install in the center, put the carseat on the side, preferably behind the passenger seat since a car's seats have a tendency to over recline in a crash, and you don't want to be hurling your body weight on the baby's carseat in the event of a crash.

Remember to place baby rear-facing until she reaches the height/weight limits.  It's 5 times safer for her.

  8. The pamphlet that came with our car seat said they should be installed behind the front passenger seat.  It's a Graco Infant snug ride, purchased January 2007.

  9. I would go with the center if you only have one child to worry about.

If you really want to place the child on one side or the other, I would go with the passenger side, that way if your car breaks down on the side of the road, you will not be getting her out on the side of traffic.

Speaking of breaking down on the side of the road, keep a small stroller in the trunk so that if you do break down you can place her in the stroller to keep her under control.  It doesn't matter if she cries or not while in the stroller, if you're broke down on the side of the road, she's safer restrained in a stroller than trying to run and play in traffic while you fix the car or wait for a tow truck.
