  1. Don't let them have it cause in some cases it can kill the kid. From lungs closing up.

  2. It's not fair, but it's safer and I can understand the reason for it. An allergic kid can die or suffer brain damage if his airway closes up when he comes into contact with peanut butter, and kids are always sharing and swapping.

My husband makes and sells ice cream, and it is a very serious matter. A lot of people are terribly allergic to nuts.

My throat closes up a little when I eat certain raw fruits, but not so much that I can't breathe. It's still an unpleasant feeling.

  3. have you tried other products like almond butter there are different varieties.

  4. Sucks doesn't it?  I don't think you'll find a school anywhere these days that will allow peanut butter or any product that contains peanuts to be brought for lunch or snacks.  Unfortunately you'll have to find something else your child will eat.  I have a very picky eater too and I just have to tell her "tough".  They will generally try anything if they get hungry enough.   Also you have to offer new foods like 15-20 times before it will be tried/accepted by a child, frustrating huh?

  5. Make a normal healthy meal and tell them they have to have at least one bite of everything on there plate and  if they do that they get a cookie or something he/she likes the next day. Or give them a big breakfast and a snack they like for lunch and as soon as they get home give them another snack.

  6. OK, why on Earth would you put jelly in a sandwich!

Things I would put in a sandwich:

Jam, Butter, Peanut butter, Marmalde, Chocolate Spread, Ham or Cheese.

  7. I think it's unfortunate but some children are extremely allergic to peanuts and it's necessary to make sure they don't come in contact with any peanut products. I'm sure your child will cope with not eating peanut butter and jelly every day and they will be healthier for it.
