until now, as my work schedule doesn't allow for me to transport them any more. I tried to carpool, but there is no one else who live in my direction. I came up with the idea of hiring a driver. Is it unreasonable for me to request to see a photo ID, a photo in advance, an interview, and references? Is this a safe idea if I go about it this way? I think it would be dangerous if I didn't interview them first and ask for references. I will also inform the school of who will be picking them up everyday once I find a driver.

  1. no it is not unreasonable.  you want your children to be safe.  If the applicants feel this is too strict, then they can find another job.  You should ask to see their driver's liscense, insurance, registration (just to make sure they're not driving without insurance or something) do an interview, ask for references, and also get a criminal background check.  I don't know if there is a way to find out if they have any speeding tickets or accidents, but if there is, I suggest you do that too.

nothing is too unreasonable for the safety of your children.

  2. I would ask for that as well along with doing a background check on this person at the same time for your and your children's safety..............

  3. I don't know who you are thinking of hiring...but I would try to hire another mom who has a child at that school...many stay at home moms could use that extra income and wouldn't mind going out of their way for the extra cash.

Of course you should screen anyhone who has contact with your kiddos...most counties have clerk of courts sits with public record searches...you can look people up just by knowing their name and see if they have traffic tickets or criminal charges.

  4. no you need to know who will be driving
