My church wants to build a ramp. Is there grant money available?

The ramp will connect the church to the old school building, which is going to house a "community room." Right now there is no access for the disabled or the elderly into this building.

You should approach your local council first of all, they usually have some funding for this kind of thing.  You could also apply for lottery funding.

ask the parishioners. it's their job not the community's

Locally, where I live the Builder's Association gives annual grants for these projects. They even build the ramp. I would check with them.

im not sure about the grant but it wouldnt be that expensive to build. I would say  a fundraiser like holding a dinner or something like it should make u enough

You could do what my church does all the time.  Have a spagetti (or any other type) of dinner at your church.  Make it free but have a donation jar.  Sell tickets anywhere you can.  Also, for tak-out containers, ask local restuarants.  Usuallly they will be happy to donate.  When my church does this....we always raise a lot of money.

wait until obama is prez. i've heard he's going to help restore churches across the country.

what about using the money you collect on sunday or have a fundraiser to raise the money.
