My citrus trees have fruit on it, should I fertilize it now, what's the best time to fertilize fruit trees?

  1. Late fall will give it a boost into early spring when the buds come around. Make sure you fertilizer has phosphate in it because all fruiting trees will have more buds and fruit with generous amounts of phosphate. Consider using rock phosphate and limestone (pellets) which have less impact on drinking water and streams. Use these organic alternatives to the commercial fertilizers which are here today and mostly wind up in the environment.  Fertilize again in mid spring.
