My clothes Drawer makes random pops at night. is that something weird to consider?

ONLY at night does my clothes drawer make random popping sounds, i think it could be my television which is placed on top of it. my clothes drawer is wooden and sturdy but i don't understand why it decides to pop only at night. it gets on my nerves and scares the living h**l out of me. ofcores i'm used to it now. But it still bothers me.

One of the reasons things make noises is because the changing temperature throughout the day causes the materials to expand with the heat and then contract when it gets colder. You often hear your roof doing this.

I wouldn't normally expect wooden drawers to change size all that much, are you sure it is the drawers,and not something else in that direction, it can be very hard to place the source of noises especially at night.

I assume the TV is on at night?

To experiment, for a night you could leave the TV off. You could elevate it several inches by putting something under it. You could leave the drawer open a bit. You could take everything out of it.

One of these little tests might give you your answer.

I don't think  this is paranormal. Like someone said ..the temperature changes at night..and it's quieter at night..and to me, you can hear better in the dark. If your drawers start pulling out by themselves...that's when I'd get concerned.

Edit..Get a fan that makes a noise . If it's cold..turn it away from you . It will drown out the noise of the drawers.

Could be that at night it is the only time that you are quiet enough, and still enough to hear the sounds coming from it. Also it could be that it is cooling down after being on all day. There also may be some pipes that are in the wall behind it , and again this is the quietest time to be able to take notice of it. The rest of the time there is too much activity around.

I had a closset that had wooden sliding doors and it also made a poping sound at night,  yep is something to do with changing temps in the house, dont worry :)

it is called static electricity the pop you heard is only audible at night when all is quiet and your sorrounding is seems still and small sound in very audible, I experience that at night when i try to arrange my blanket and the end of my finger pops with small lightning at each end, to verify it try to remove your clothes from the cabinet if you will hear it again.

i was always told it was the house/ground settling. and you hear it at night because its really not that loud but its so quiet at night that it seems that way
