  1. Try a bleach / vinegar wash...Add a cup of bleach to your EMPTY washing machine...make sure you set the washer for a large load.  Run a hot water wash.  Then, add a cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle.  This should thoroughly clean your washer.

When washing your clothes, add vinegar to your rinse cycle.  This not only softens your clothes, but it removes bad odors.. Bonus, it keeps you washer very clean!

If none of these things work, it is either your water (don't know what to do about that), or it is your detergent.  When I'm not using my homemade detergent, I like Arm & Hammer washing detergent...smells very clean, not perfumey!

    Good Luck!!!

  2. Maybe its the water?  Or you need to clean out the filter in the washing machine?  Good luck.

  3. probally bacterial buildup in machine.check to see that hoses are not kinked. put several gallons of white viniger[not red or cider]put in machine and run 1 cycle.[full cycle]then run 2 cycles using a box of baking soda in each cycle.this should cure  your problem.on a smaller basis this works on coffee machines too

  4. Sounds like your laundry deturgent is sour. Try adding some white vinegar to your washer, about a cup. That stuff is great and very cheap.  Also, try Arm and Hammer baking soda, a natural deoderizer.  Try not to let your clothes sit in the washer too long, they tend to get a mildewy smell.

  5. i used to have this problem but it was my dryer.

the aluminom pipe thing running out side was bent so the air was just commin back in so i pulled the dryer away from the wall and cleaned the pipe and it worked.

maybe this was helpful if not good luck cuz i had smelly clothes and it sucked.

  6. Pour some vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser each wash.  It will make your clothes smell really sweet.  I know it sounds weird, but it works!!! Try it.  Good luck.

  7. wash them in hot water again if you can. then go get some fabric softener--throw that in there----then get a good smelling dryer sheet--and dry them

  8. Step 1: throw out that detergent(detergent 1)

Step 2: Buy new detergent(2) that you know doesn't make your clothes smell bad (from personal experience ie. the detergent you used before this new smelly one)

Step 3: Rewash your clothes again in your new detergent(2) ALSO make sure you take your clothes out of the wash almost as soon as they are done don't leave them to sit wet in your washer make sure you dry/hang them soon

Step 4: If they still smell then it may be your washer

    I also recommend Ferbreeze!

  9. use tide laundry detergant and scented downey dryer sheets

  10. Check if there is a filter in the machine that needs cleaning.  That could be the trouble.

  11. Maybe you must use a clothwasher cleaner, you can buy it in any cleaning products store, or you may try to run one full hot cycle without any cloths in it, adding a pint of white apple vinager, some times it helps a lot

  12. How on EARTH do you think we can help you?, change your bloody washing powder and wash them again.

  13. They might be staying wet for too long.  Do they stay in the washer a long time? or maybe the dryer doesn't dry them fast enough.  Also do you use fabric softner? dryer sheets help.

    HTH

  14. get a new laundry detergent. or just spray something.

  15. Use febreeze along with the detergent.

    During drying, use Bounce strips.

  16. Rewash them, half as many as you've been putting in a load, in the hottest water possible, laundry detergent and add a cup of white vinegar to the final rinse cycle.

Sounds like you're overloading your machine.

  17. Sometimes if you let them stay in the washer to long clothes will smell. Put them in the dryer right after they are done in the washer.

  18. Maybe it is your water....

we have hard water in my area and if a damp facecloth or something gets in the basket...well

I use baking soda ,  it softens the water and absorbs odors along with my detergent

Try a little bleach in your empty machine then  run it through, double rinse

    all the best

  19. you might be leaving them in the washer for to long....or maybe you left the detergent open.

  20. Try putting in a half cup to a cup or so of baking soda in the wash cycle and rinse well. Also, if you have hard water, try a chemical softener such as Calgon in at least the rinse water along with fabric softener. You could also run the washer full of hot water only (no clothes and definitely no baking soda this time) and then and only then put in at least a quart or so but no more than a gallon of vinegar along with another gallon or so of very hot water, then run for about ten minutes or so and then run the rinse cycle, making sure you get the water level just as high or higher as the first time. To get all the water hotter unless you want to make several trips to the stove, turn up your water heater thermostat and/or try running a bit (1/4 tub or a less) of hot water, splashing it on the sides of the tub heating them and then draining and immediately refilling and putting in the vinegar when it is nearly full. I would recommend white over apple cider, but both have their merits. Once should take care of it indefinitely. You could also reset it to wash so the rinse is hot also. Do not know if you have ever put too much detergent in and gotten way too many suds, but if you ever do, simply put a bit of any liquid fabric softener in and it will kill the suds. Doesn't take much and doesn't have to be the "good" stuff. You can also use it in a rental or home carpet cleaner in place of the more expensive anti-foam stuff they sell.

  21. I had that happen to me once.  i could never figure out why or what to do about it, my husband was convinced i was leaving the clothes in the washer too long before drying them, but i was putting them in the dryer immediately after they were washed, and they always came out with an old  musty smell.  i tried different detergents, it didn't help at all, just some detergent scents are stronger than others.  then we moved, and after reconnectiong the washer at the new place, the problem was gone, just like that.  i believe the washer was not draining out all the old water at the end of each washing cycle, due to the drainage hose being clogged, or maybe it was leaning in one direction or another and all the water didn't drain out of the machine.  maybe take off the hose and look inside, or check to see if the machine is properly balanced.
