There is plenty of heat, and it turns on without a problem..

  1. The over temp. safety switch is not a resettable switch, so that can be ruled out.  It may be the overtemp. protection on the motor, however.  Definitely check the lint buildup in the dryer vent by removing it to see, not just put your hand over the outlet.

  2. I would have to wonder about the motor.   You might have to call a repair person.  I know, I hate calling them too :)

  3. This may sound REALLY stupid but try this: Pull out your lint trap and clean the lint out of it...NOW...run it under gently flowing water. There is a very good chance water will not flow well through it. This is caused by a build up from dryer sheets. The internal parts of your dryer build up too much heat when theycant "breath" through this filter. Use an old toothbrush and some dish soap and clean the lint trap real well untill water flows freely and your problem may be solved. P.S. The reason it shuts off is the built up heat-safety mechanism. A good thing but it could eventually NOT turn back on. good luck

  4. try getting a new heating element
