My clothes smell gross even after I wash them!?

I work in a restaurant where we wear jeans and t-shirts. I have 3 different pair of jeans that I wear to work and they smell so bad when I get home. I guess I end up tracking dirty water and food around on them. When I wash my clothes, my jeans and work shirts still smell like I've been at work, so I can't wear my jeans anywhere else. Is there something I can use to get the gross dirty smell out of my good clothes!?

  1. More than likely the smell is from grease.  The grease gets trapped in the fibers of the cloths, and yes,,,, it turns rancid over time.

Try warm water, and a stronger detergent designed to cut grease.

You could also add something to the wash, to assist your current detergent with grease.  The product I've used in the past is a HAND CLEANER, called Goop.  It is in the auto parts store, and their are laundry instructions right on the package.

From past experience, a cup full of Dawn detergent in the washer will gaurentee a laundry mat full of suds.  Just is case you were thinking this.

    Good luck

  2. Drench them with spray n wash. Let sit for five minutes, rub vigorously, then launder with soap, and use liquid fabric softer or 2-3 dryer sheets.

The stench is the from the greasy air and the food. Spray n wash removes grease.

  3. In Greece there is a color safe bleach called "Ace Gentile" which is excellent for cleaning any kind of stains and getting rid of all the smells.  You pour it in the washing machine following instructions or use in for hand washed garments and they smell great.  Don't forget to use fabric softener to give that extra fragrance.

Ask your supermarket for "color safe bleach".   This stuff is so great that if you pour it on your bathroom tiles or in drains, you see it froth around the dirty areas.  Yet it is fabulously gentle on your clothes and never ruins them, no matter what color or fabric they are.  If you're using an economic program the water will not be hot enough to get rid of the odors.  60 degrees is the correct water temperature for what you need.

  4. hiya try a pre wash programme .

  5. You need to soak them overnight in a strong detergent solution.

Then wash them, rinse thoroughly and dry in the fresh air.

If possible put them on a very hot wash.

Next time wear clothes that are not for anything other than work.

  6. Febreze has a new product called Febreze Laundry Odor Eliminator.  Febreze works really well, so I bet this product would, too.  I'd say it's worth a try.

  7. put baking soda and vinegar while washing . Yes vinegar smells bad just use a half to a forth cup. All will come out in the rinse.

  8. What I have done, after washing I put the clothes to soak in additional water with sweet smelling liquid.  e.g. floralin or even additional liquid softener. This I do for about half an hour, then dry.

  9. I pour some Febreeze in the wash with my husband's uniform shirts & this seems to remove odors from the fabric well.
