  1. Was that today? Lucky you - my first game of the season got rained off (Picking up from where we left off that season!). That isn't bad! You'll get better with experience, especially on the fielding side of matters. I've only ever played 2nd team so far, but I am only 15. My highest is only something like 20 for the adult team at the moment and I'm a fairly decent batsman. Oh and don't worry about you not getting a bowl - you will, just be patient. Good luck to you in your next match and all those in the future!

  2. Good one mate, you will get more chances as you start to impress your coach and captain. Don't worry about the 4 misfields too, in my first ever game i dropped an absolute sitter and then the guy i dropped hit a 100 !!.

My first game of the summer is in 2 weeks, BUT i have just finished the indoor season in which i averaged 54 with the bat and got 7 wickets !! wooooo

  3. You did very well, but don't change how you bowl so you can bowl for your team otherwise your talent will disappear and you will not get another chance. Your fielding is good just practice getting the ball in fast! Just keep practicing as practice makes almost perfect!

  4. nice

  5. Well congratulations for being picked! I remember my first proper game playing for my secondary school, I got clean bowled for 7 (it really messed up my season average I can tell you!) and dropped quite a few catches. I don't think anyone can claim to have a Bradman-esq type first innings, so I wouldn't worry about the midfield's too much, you'll improve the more you play and practice. Hopefully you'll get further chances to impress.

Good luck for all your future games!

  6. Good first game and under the pitch conditions you will accept the skipper's decision as correct. Not a bad effort for a lower order batsman in his first senior game.

Can you pinpoint the reasons for the misfielding ? If you can then study and practice how to improve those aspects of your game. If you try this after each match you now play, even if in the lower teams, your game will gather strength, consistency and skill. Keep fit and handle your bat and ball as often as you can even if you are not playing in a match. This gives familiarity and strengthens arm muscles and fingers. Practice.

    Best of luck, old chap.

Goodness it all seems so long ago now.

  7. in my first senior match our team got bowled out for 31(i got 1) on the worst pitch ever in the history of cricket. however got 4 wickets in 2 overs thanx to the wicket. but they chased it down after losing 6 wickets lol

  8. Nice! considering you never played before, extra nice!
