  1. It is not easy and it will need the throw out berrings as well

  2. By far the easiest way is with rectangular dollars.

    It is also the surest way.

    There is a lot to replacing the clutch, does the flywheel need resurfaced?

    What about the pilot bearing?

    I have seen transmissions (that cost 1500 dollars) ruined by some one trying to save 300 dollars in labor costs (it wasn't my work). Yes, I do my own (but only by necessity).

    Lets face it, having a  car a part for a week waiting for parts can be a bummer. How much more so  when the cat does it's thing right where you have to lay on your back and press 100 lbs while trying to get two bolts in to hold the transmission in place?

  3. The easiest way is to invest £20 in a Haynes Manual.

  4. Put the car on a lift.  Get a tranny jack, drop the tranny back and down, and you'll have access the clutch/flywheel assembly.  You may have to block the engine so that you can get the tranny back.
