i need to add i am from a small school (126 students). so there is not a broad selection of atheletes at our school. we play 8 man football here and i have worked out (both in the weight room and even more on my own) to secure my start all summer long.

but a boy who decides to play runnningback who drinks, smokes weed, and doesnt work out starts instead of i because he is a "senior".

what the h**l is wrong with my coach.

what do i do to get through to my coach?

if i am striaghtforward and blunt he will make me seem as if im out for myself and not for the team. so talking to him about it is out of the picture.

i am very atheletically inclined.

and i have more heart than the whole team put together.

BUT im only a junior.

i feel like i worked all summer for nothing. any words of confort?

  1. the world is unfair. ive had a teacher who would always pick on me too. im sry and i feel bad for you, but just do wat you do, and show that coach wat your made of!!!

  2. Not "fair", but probably right...  At this point in your athletic career, you have not shown your HFC that you are capable athletically to win the spot, despite your competition (the senior) being a complete slacker.  That deviant is not even taking your challenge to his spot seriously, yet he is still better.  If you truly were nearly the athlete he was, you'd be awarded the spot, because it sounds as if he is not a team player, and likely not much of a leader.  There would be no other reason to select him ahead of you.  Truth is, the coach is making his choice because it makes the team better, and therefore gives HIM a better chance of winning.  As far as the TEAM goes, do you think it would be "fair" to put a weaker ball carrier on the field, and lessen the team's chance of winning?

Let me say one obvious point, that I'm sure you know.  The world is not fair, but in do time you WILL reap what you sow.  For some athletics come easy.  For others it is music.  For others math.  For others the capacity to make/keep friends.  We are ALL blessed in some way.

This year will be a year of growth for you, if you continue to fight and resist the easy out of submitting in the face of adversity.  It is AMAZING how much a year can make in the development of one athlete over another.  Faster, more developed bodies, more time to develop kinetically.  If you are as committed as you state, and if the program is in as much disarray as you indicate, I don't see how you don't find a quality # of reps next year.

  3. i dont know what to tell you

but yer coach is a *****,

    im sorry,

  4. Do you come across as cocky to the coach as you do on here?

  5. Tell your coach that he smokes and drinks. Or if your coach play favorites then just play on defense and take that senior out. If your that athletic then play another position maybe fullback or corner. Keep your chin up high son.

  6. prove ur betr, do all ur drills rite in front of the coach and show up the crackhead every chance u get, u should also tlk to ur coach about this

  7. dude that sux u might as well just talk to your coach and ask him to give you a chance 4 at least 1 game you have nothing to lose and if he lets you start 1 game play your heart out and show him you can do it! good luck!

  8. one word.....karma....what goes around comes around

his lack of effort will show, while your hard work will pay dividends once you start losing games because of this lazy ***..

you say NOTHING to your coach, no complaints, u just make sure you are the first to practice, last to leave, show him with actions why u are better than this crackhead and deserve to start

and if the coach still doesnt change his mind than backhand his *** and

1: transfer (if you are really committed and want to make this a college/pro thing)

2: try another sport which u enjoy (i reccomend lacrosse if you like contact, or wrestling if youre into strength and finesse)

    good luck

  9. All I see is a kid with a big mouth who think that he is better than he really is.  To get the coach to notice you you need to shut up and put out.  You need to earn the spot by what you do and not what you say.

I felt the same way when I played.  I needed to take it up a few notches to have the coach notice me by outplaying the starter.

It's a lot of hard work and I really don't think you have what it takes.  I hope you prove me wrong.

  10. i would most likely talk to the coach ask him does he have a problem against you and show him ur all blood sweat and tears, prove to him u have a bigger heart and a bigger will to win rather then that "senior" try to talk in a way which u are cool and calm dont go to the coach and say hey i should have the starting job say something like coach i need to talk to u abt this starting problem i worked hard and i gave it all i had just to get ready for this and i think its unfair how u let a kid who smokes and drinks get the starting job when he dosnt even work out.

then that should soften him up for one last "attack "  show him how great u truly are
