one of the feathers on his wing is crooked, and its causing him pain!!

from what i can see, its not bleeding. its just crooked. i dont know what happened.. one minute he was fine and when i turned my back he started screeching while trying to fly. then i saw the crooked feather.

i put him in his cage so that he wouldnt do more damage to himself.

my question is what do i do to help him?

should i even try to help him, or do i keep him in his cage for a while until he fixes his feather himself?

  1. let him do it himself, by u messing with it, u can only make it worse. let him deal with it. if after a couple days and he's still screeching then take him to a vet. good luck ♣

  2. You should have your bird checked out by a avian vet or at the least call one for assistance as soon as possible. Check the feather to make sure it does not have a blood supply(blood feather), you will see red blood at the base of the quill if it does. If there still is a blood supply, this feather should be removed otherwise it could bleed and the bird go into shock if the 'twisted' feather breaks.  Do not attempt to remove this feather yourself unless you know how.

  3. You need to either call a vet and follow their instructions until he gets better or you need to take him to the vet.  There's no telling what's wrong with his wing.  You need to talk to a vet right away.

    I hope I helped!
