Please help me. She was on my shoulder and I wanted her off so i touched her belly. Usually she steps up. She was hand bed as a baby. But not she squirms and bites. Its not hard but i get scared. also when I'm holding her she randomly flaps her wings ferociously!! It's kinda scary. Most of the time I see her her feathers on her head is up? Why? She comes out willingly but fights to stay out. Even if I put my hand in her cage to change her food, she'll jump onto my hand. She's usually very happy when we have parties because everyone wants to hold her. Does anyone know why she's doing that? I think its because she wants more attention but I can only give her so much. I go to school for 7 hours and mostly all the time I take her out right away. So please help me! Thanks for any help at all!! I desperately need help!

  1. i think maybe she isn't getting out enough and wants more play time the best thing is to buy her a jungle gym for birds and train her to play on it when you aren't home

  2. I have a cockatiel and she does the exact same thing. My bird just wants to be with me as much as she can. As for the flapping the wings my cockatiel does that whenever she feels off balance or uncomfortable.

My bird also bites me softly when I try to get her off my shoulder, I think for what ever reason she likes to bee on my shoulder. my advice is when she does bite do NOT bring your finger back, keep telling her to step up until she steps up this will show her/him that he will not get what she wants by biting.

    Hope this is helpful.

PS. try to have cockatiels out at least 1 hour every day.
